The Emergence of 'Travel My Wild Life'

The Emergence of 'Travel My Wild Life'

Hi 👋 and welcome to my wild life!

By now you have probably arrived here via my artist page or my YouTube channel ‘Travel My Wild Life’. My channel name was inspired by my first and middle name M (Meral) and Y (Yildiz, meaning star ⭐️ ) with a focus on wildlife but also travelling in a less conventional and ‘wild’ way.

So why join me on my travels…..
As an animal artist and photographer, my pastel artwork is mostly inspired by my travel and photography. I decided to start my YouTube channel, to share my adventures at home and overseas.

I will be sharing my travel adventures from far and wide by TukTuk, over-landers and camper vans. I am passionate about conservation and animal welfare issues effecting both wild and domestic animals around the globe. Travelling independently is enabling me to to spend more time off the beaten path learning about local cultural and environmental issues impacting on the animal kingdom and the opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. During my travels I will at times highlight some of the issues facing our natural world and share my experiences and knowledge gained along the way.

The photo above was taken at the S’Albufera nature reserve in Mallorca. With over 1600 hectares of protected wetlands, this Parc of national importance is home to 1000’s of resident and migratory birds, with over 300 species visiting this area year round. I visited the Parc hoping to spot some of the wild horses. Although I didn’t get to see them on this trip I was captivated by the 1000’s of nesting birds including Egrets and Herons in the trees surrounding the wetlands and the sound was incredible! I was also honoured to have a Red Knobbed Coot and her 2 chicks walk straight in front of me, as I kneeled down to capture the moment behind the lens. Mum and chicks were relaxed in our quiet company and she proceeded to feed her chick. This was such a special moment to experience at the end of the day, as the sun began to fall.
